1.Description

The concentration of vapors volatilized from the surface of flammable and combustible liquids (including solids with sublimation properties) increases as the temperature of the apparatus rises. These vapors form a gas mixture with air. When the mixture of vapors reaches a certain concentration, if in contact with an ignition source, it will produce a flash of instantaneous combustion, a phenomenon known as flash ignition. The lowest solid temperature at which flash ignition occurs is called the flash point.
